WingScanner: Copy Rewrite
This is one of the first projects I did for the UX Writing Hub. The task was to rewrite a screen for a fictitious airline app that convinces travelers to pay to skip long security lines. The original is on the left and my design is on the right.
I wanted to create a catchy headline that draws the user in. The original was too vague and didn’t tell me why the extra $20 was worth it. Originally, my headline was going to be “spend $20 to save 20 minutes” but asking for money right off the bat doesn’t always resonate so writing “save” expresses how the user would benefit from spending the extra $20. A requirement for the project was to create a name for the feature and “good-to-go” came to mind because once you’re on the V.I.P list, you’re good to go. I broke up the text and used bullet points to make the information easier to read. I created the CTA to match the body copy so the user can understand how they’re saving 20 minutes (or more) for $20 if they only read the headline.
