Forms, Alerts, and Microcopy

The context: The images below are from an employee separation form.

The problem: It wasn’t clear enough that editing answers would affect the overall submission. The copy was repetitive in the headline and body.

Original

Solution: Leveraging the urgency of the icon, I was able to delete the headline and condense the body copy while clarifying what happens next.

The problem: Users need to go to a specific area of the payment center to edit an additional payment. The hyperlink needed to stay.

Original

Solution: Since additional payments was the main action I made that the headline and placed it outside of the box because it followed the design system I was working with. Then I wrote the action the user can take and hyperlinked the page they needed to go to.

Final

The problem: Clearly state the consequences of leaving the page without saving.

Original

Solution: With a bit of brainpower and help from the original copy, I decided the best way to communicate those consequences.
